MY FRIEND FLICKA: A young boy is determined to befriend wild horse and tame a wild horse in this screen version of Mary O'Hara's novel. Despite the fact that his chosen horse comes from bad blood ten-year old Ken decides he must tame it, to prove himself as a person. A family classic for all ages. THUNDERHEAD, SON OF FLICKA: Classic family fare, this charming horse-and-boy story is set against a breathtakingly beautiful Utah background, wild horse and is based on the novel by Mary O'Hara. Roddy McDowell (PLANET OF THE APES, OVERBOARD) resurrects his role in the original as Ken McLaughlin, the son of a horse rancher (Preston Foster, LOVE BEFORE BREAKFAST) who tries to break in Thunderhead, son of the previous film's star horse. The all-white colt shows signs of being a racing star, but is injured on his first time out; Ken still loves his horse, but when Thunderhead's albino father goes wild, trouble begins to stir. The sire runs rampant across the countryside, stealing mares from all the farms, but when Ken finds himself menaced by the dangerous wild horse, Thunderhead saves him wild horse and engages in a battle with his renegade parent.
